Seals at Hopes Nose

We often spot our grey furry friends on route to Teignmouth! Grey Atlantic & Common Seals are growing in numbers on the South Devon Coastline – and we love that! You’ll often see the seals annoying Anglers on Hopes Nose – a favourite fishing spot...Search our site:

The Skipper came in so close to see the scenery saying (lady in spotted jacket push us off with boat hook) ha ha that was me.!! The Crew were great, helpful and informative a Great Value for money and would do it again. Refreshments, toilets and padded seats not bad eh !! Good luck to them for the future hope all goes well. Boarded Brixham Belle sometime after 10am. She was built in 1923 and was a bit basic but folded blankets were provided for your comfort. The Captain was very knowledgeable about the boat, local area geology and fishing history. We learnt a lot, better than books. Coastline was stunning and because the boat has a shallow draft we got really near to seals at Hopes Nose. Had coffee and cake served with a smile. (on the way back I had a beer). Full directions and instructions were provided for the circular route and we took the optional but included trip from Teignmouth to Dawlish Warren on the train. Didn't have long to stop as had enjoyed a high quality, low cost breakfast at the Station Cafe at Teignmouth. Whole trip was well organised and great value for the money. Well done skipper and crew! Would fully recommend the Park and Ride service as long stay car parks in Brixham are not a quick walk to the quay and get full quickly in the season. read less..

We had a Fish & Chip Supper onboard with a drink included. John the Skipper and his mate Aaron were first class at making everybody feel welcome and at ease for this trip. Nothing was too much trouble. They were so friendly in providing such a great service to all on board. We also had an added bonus to seeing Dolphins, Porpoises and a Seal on this trip. It made it even more special for everyone. I would highly recommend this trip onboard The Brixham Belle. Thank you very much John and Aaron. read less..
