Went down on spec yesterday at end of a break in the town and realised had missed the Western Lady and came across this company which I was not familiar with.
They guy in the kiosk held the 11.30 a.m. ferry for us and we bought two return tickets for a grand total of £6. What a bit of luck.
It transpires WeFerry are the last independent family run ferry company operating here. What a difference too....the crew were lively and funny plus informative...our boat called at Paignton on the way to Torquay and we loved the trip.
Got their direct service back at 1.30 p.m. and the Captain gave us a treat I have never experienced before by taking us on a mini coastal trip under the Imperial Hotel for a chance to see some of the spectacular rock formations beyond it - stopping to allow us a photo opportunity.
He then headed back providing fascinating information about other vessels including taking us alongside a spectacular Norwegian sailing ship, a run-down of the two main fishingmethods used by the Brixham fleet and details of the old Brixham sailing beamers anchored in the harbour.
All this made for a most enjoyable return trip - never bettered before.
So I say - use this company rather than they big boys. They are local, independent and great fun.
To be honest for a return price of £3 per person it is worth going just for the fun of the sailing trip.

A lovely day out.The commentary was great, loads of local knowledge. The crew, Joe and John, were friendly and welcoming. We got some fantastic photos and saw Sammy the seal. This trip is great value for money and I would recommend it to old and young alike. We'll definitely do it again. 😎 read less..
